Entry #4
Conclusion:
Well let me just give a thank you for listing to my philosophies, I really hope I thought you something. Just always remember that humans are greedy, mean, fickle, and people only look out for themselves. That’s just the nature of humans, so take this note and apply it to every situation you come across in life. Every man for themselves.
Thank you
Thomas Hobbes
Hobbes,
I have been reading, listing, and writing about you philosophies, I don’t believe in all of your philosophies of human nature. From my experience in life, when humans have a problem they usually solve it in a civil way. Your philosophies are more attended to the book lord of the flies, that book showed a lot of prime example of your philosophies. As I said I don’t believe in all your philosophies, like Sudan boys. You said that humans are greedy, mean, fickle, and people only look out for themselves. But the Sudan boys didn’t follow any of your philosophies, because humans aren’t always greedy, mean, fickle, and selfish.
Every man for themselves.

Entry 3
"Philosophies of leadership are determined by beliefs about human nature."
This quote is saying that, based on the people we lead our philosophies of leadership are different, it is more strict, or more more lenient. In another words this quote basically means that, most people would share with people they trust, rather than share with people they don’t trust. But we have been talking about how people are greedy, mean, and fickle, so if you were a leader and you had a group of greedy, mean, and fickle people, you would have to be more strict, because they wouldn’t learn, or get the concept on life living. This theory would just be like a garden. Say if your garden soil wasn’t too great. You would have to take care of the soil, fertilize it, give it water, expose it to the sun, and give it quality. That’s how you would have to act as a leader if your group wasn’t good. Hobbes wouldn’t agree with this. Hobbes would say that there shouldn’t be a leader, and if there was then, the leader will abuse his power because he would be selfish and only looking out for himself.
"The governed have a responsibility for their governance."
This quote is saying that, the governed have a responsibility to elect their government, and they would also have to respect the government. So basically kids should respect their teachers, but they must/should speak up if they have a misunderstanding. If you want a civil and high-quality country the governed should elect on who they want to be the leader of their country, but when they elect their governance they should give him respect because they elected him. This brings me to the example of a building. Every part of a building has a job to keep the building stable, and the jobs are like people in a country. So if people are not holding up there responsibility of the building, and if the leader is lacking on telling people to do their job on keeping the building up. Then the governed has a right to boot the governance off. Yes Hobbes agrees. Hobbes says that, when the governed elects governance the governed must obey there governance because they elected the, and if they don’t obey they should get extreme punishment.
"Human Nature does not determine our actions; it inclines us towards us towards certain actions."
This quote is saying that, just because you want to become a professional soccer player does not mean you’re going to become a professional soccer player, but your heart to become professional makes you want to work harder and train harder to achieve your goal/wish. Your behavior won’t determine your outcome but if it’s a strong belief it will strive you to complete the good you wish. This is like one of those commercials, where people have two paths to choose from because they get to decide their own destination. Hobbes disagrees, because people are always bad in the inside (heart), but they might not act it because people are always thinking about the consequences, that’s why people doesn’t want to demonstrate their bad side.

BLOG MONDAY (Entry 2)
Q1
I wasn’t too happy with the ending of lord of the flies. The ending of the play was that Ralph and piggy wanted to get the group reunited and make it civil again. But jack didn’t want that, jack liked the fact that he was okay that’s all mattered to him. As Ralph and piggy was going to talk to jacks group, I rock fell on piggy and killed him. Ralph was left alone; it was Ralph vs. jacks group. Jack planned to hunt Ralph down, but couldn’t find him, so jack decided to set a forest fire. Finally Ralph came out of this hiding spot and started running away from jack group. Ralph became real tired, and started crowing, as he was crowing he bumped into a tall man feel. They became rescued! Hey Hobbes here. I didn’t like the ending of the book; the ending should have been more intense, more extreme. I would have liked the ending to be like this. As Ralph was hiding from jack, I liked that jack set a forest fire to get Ralph out of his hiding spot, but I would have been better if jack had gotten a hold of Ralph and killed him so he can be the only leader, that’s human nature people wants to get rid of their problems and just live there life. That’s how I would of liked the Lord of the flies to end.
Q2
Human always have a choice to do good or bad, but we always chose the bad because ,we only think about or selves.
Q3
I think the Sudan boys are very lucky; this is one in a life time opportunity. I think most of the boys would have started killing each other to gain power, its human nature people only look out for themselves. I think it would be bad if they chose a leader because than everyone would have been jealous of the leader, and they would have ended up like the book Lord of the flies. But it was good to see that the Sudan boys didn’t do that. I think that the boys didn’t start killing each other because they knew that this is a historic moment, and they wanted to honor their family and friends. People do good, so they can show the public there outside/ physical character, but really inside they care about themselves.

Hobbes
Hello,
Hobbes here I'm a philosopher, I help people try to find deeper meaning in life. (1588-1679), date I was born and died if you were wondering. I'm real different I am contentious old coders who dabble in everything, I had to flee France because antagonized every political party in Britain. I am pessimistic; I believe that all humans’ acts are motivated by self interest and the quest for power. I think that being nice is not just a bad idea, its impossible! In the state of nature there should be no law, no morality, no property, and only one natural right, the right to protect oneself.
It's just the nature of oneself. I state that people originally will form a government because if there need for protection, in exchange for their safety. If you do what you are told then you will not be harmed, and you don't even have the right not to be killed, for no matter what ruler does, it does not constitute violation of the contract. The ruler will define good and evil for his country, the ruler can do no wrong because lawful and unlawful, good and evil are merely commands merely the will of the leader.
You should concede your rights to the government, in return for your life.
Thank you,
Hobbes.
